There is a fenced area by the Owls Nest cabin. There is also a fenced area at the left end of the Courtside rooms. Muzzles are required if other attendee’s dogs present. Please pick up your dog’s poop and keep these areas clean for all the dogs.
If your dog has loose stool there is sand available to cover what you can’t pick up. We also have a scoop for sale in the store that you can use to catch the poop or use a newspaper or paper plate. Makes it much easier!

Confused between Service Dogs and Therapy Dogs? Greyhounds can be trained for either purpose. Patti will go over these terms and provide clarification between them. Patti does Therapy Dog testing for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, and she has a training program that produces Service Dogs. Come enjoy an educational talk complete with Greyhounds participating.

Downtown Gatlinburg (Traffic Light 10)
Carpool if you can, there is parking at Traffic Light 10 for a fee and there are a few spots on River Rd by the trail head. (River Rd requires Parking ID) The Gatlinburg Trail Head is one of the nature trails in Gatlinburg area that allows pets. There is a nice sandy area for them to take a dip in the stream.

If you would like to parade your pups through town meet outside the hotel at 8:00 and head down the hill toward town. Turn right at Traffic Light #8. Don’t forget your Kilwyn’s ice cream coupon for BOGO on ice cream to share with your dog.
When walking back to the hotel, please head back up the same way you came down. The back way up Orchard Road (Traffic Light 6) is NOT a good road for walking with dogs. The sidewalk is VERY close to the road and there is very little lighting.

Calling all Senior Dogs aged 10 yrs. and up to join us for group photos. We will start with Dogs aged 10 yrs. for the first photo and then 11 yrs., 12 yrs., etc. ending with the King and Queen. Be prompt as we move the different ages through fast so those seniors can go take their mid-morning nap.

We will have pools for the dogs to play in and water bowls around the tent. Look for the misting tent for a cool refreshing spray. We do have a large group of Greyhounds so if you see an empty bowl please help refill. Bring a dog bed with you for your pup.

Do you wonder what your greys life was like before adoption? Patrick McMillon the owner of McMillon farm located near Cross Lanes WV will be at the event and will be available to answer greyhound questions. Patrick has raised quite a number of racers and provides all the retired racers to GFNC for adoption. This is an informal session for Q&A.
