The Best Little Event You'll Ever Attend
Celebrating 16 years of bringing greyhound lovers together in the scenic Smoky Mountains of Tennessee!
A GFNC Event • May 28 - 31, 2020 • Gatlinburg, Tennessee
Important Announcement: Mountain Hounds 2020 LITE

Welcome to Mountain Hounds 2020,

The volunteers of GFNC want to thank you for considering Mountain Hounds 2020, our 16th year of the “Best Little Event You’ll Ever Attend.”  To say the least, this is a very trying time for everyone, with coronavirus, state lock downs and stay at home orders.  But things seem to be improving, with states opening up to allow more normal activities.

Given the changes taking place the volunteers of GFNC have decided to go forward with what we call “Mountain Hounds Lite” this year.  We are planning to hold a “Reduced Activity Event” to allow attendees that are comfortable with traveling to get away for a few days in Gatlinburg. We are planning to hold activities at the hotel on the top parking deck. A tent has been rented to provide shade. But due to safety concerns and the availability of volunteers we won’t be having seminars, or some of the other activities that we’ve had in previous years.

Our goal is to have everyone that is healthy and able, join us in Gatlinburg, enjoy the company of friends (while observing social distancing guidelines) and relax with their pups.  We are working out the details for catered meals (Thursday night, Friday lunch and dinner and Saturday lunch) and will keep you posted.  Because this is a reduced activity event we are reducing our registration fee to $20 so that we can cover expenses.   For anyone who has already registered, we will refund the extra $15, credit you with additional raffle tickets, or accept the difference as a donation to help with our adoption efforts.

We realize that some long time attendees won’t be able to come this year because of health or financial concerns.  Because of this we want you to know that we have made arrangements with the Sidney James so that you can call 800-876-6888 and cancel this year’s reservation and reserve the same room for next year. Mountain Hounds 2021 date is June 3 – 6, 2021.

Vending will be scaled back, but will take place at the hotel under the tent. Any vendors that aren’t able to attend this year will still be on our list for next year’s event.

Thank you for your support,

Rick Montgomery
President, GFNC

Reviews from Past Attendees

If you’re not here, you’re missing one of the greytest Greyhound events in the South.
Y’all come, ya hear.

Joe

The best event you could ever attend. Friendly folks, fun activities, lots of socializing with out of state friends and many beautiful Greyhounds. Where else would you want to be?

Janis

Love this event. It is the best Greyhound event ever. Well run, lots of planned activities with well thought out alternatives just in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate. Been attending since second year.

Gwen

Can’t wait until next year! We always have a great time. Everyone is so nice and the event is extremely well organized. The volunteers really go above and beyond to make everything nice for the attendees.
